Specialised Kiwifruit Services
Delivered with Precision
What we offer
At Precision Kiwi Pollination Ltd, every step of the pollination process is focused on protecting pollen viability and achieving the best possible pollination results.
Your dehydrated male kiwifruit pollen is carefully rehydrated using completely deionised water together with a specialised osmotic buffer solution. This creates a live pollen suspension while protecting the delicate pollen grains. Without an osmotic buffer, pollen absorbs water too quickly and can burst, becoming non-viable. Likewise, minerals and impurities found in ordinary water can damage the fragile pollen membrane, reducing pollen viability. Our careful rehydration process ensures every grain of pollen remains healthy and effective right through to application.
The Next Step
The rehydrated pollen solution is applied directly to receptive female flower stigmas using the Kiwi Pollen ATV-mounted PollenAid® Wet Sprayer. This scientifically proven system uses patented air-shear nozzle technology to produce a fine, even mist, while its high-volume, low-pressure airflow gently carries viable pollen without causing damage. The result is consistent, accurate coverage and effective pollen delivery across the orchard.
One of the key advantages of wet pollination is its ability to maintain effective pollination when traditional methods become less reliable. Applications can continue through challenging conditions such as high winds, cold temperatures, light rain, under hail netting, during periods of low bee activity, and when male and female flowering are not perfectly synchronised. By ensuring receptive flowers receive high-quality, viable pollen at the optimum time, wet pollination maximises fruit set, resulting in larger fruit, higher yields, improved dry matter, and ultimately increased Orchard Gate Returns (OGR).
At Precision Kiwi Pollination, We combine proven technology with a meticulous approach to every application. We can respond quickly to changing weather and orchard conditions, maintain close communication throughout the season, and be available whenever your pollination window opens providing a reliable, professional service focused on achieving the best possible results for your orchard.
